Lamis Elsawah

Lamis is currently a postgraduate student in the MRes in Medical Device Design and Entrepreneurship Program. She is from King of Prussia, Pennsylvania and attended the University of Pennsylvania where she received her degree in Bioengineering with a concentration in Medical Devices and minored in Engineering Entrepreneurship and Math. She has conducted internships in industry and has previously conducted research on microfluidic devices.

Lamis’ interests have always been melding the fields of technology, medicine, and business. This has translated into her current research on a stem cell injection device that aims to reduce the mechanical injury on cells immediately after injection, which is currently over 95%. 

In her spare time, Lamis enjoys playing tennis, cooking, traveling, and spending time with friends.
